New toy.
It’s missing its ground glass, and the lens looks like it’s seen better days. And the leather handle was replaced with some string. And the bag mag on the back was made for plates, not film (although they appear to have fillers in the septums to make them work with film), and the plate holder that came with it appears to have a hole in it. But overall, it’s in pretty good shape. The shutter works. The viewfinder unfolds perfectly. The mirror appears to be in good shape. It shouldn’t take too much work to get a usable camera out of this ~1923 Graflex R. B. Series B 4x5.

Turns out if you put a Hoya R72 Infrared filter in front of your iPhone’s lens and set the capture to mono, you get an infrared photo.

Bill.
For the past 25 years, I’ve helped put out a magazine about shortwave radio. My friend Bill was the publisher. The last Saturday of every month, I would take the printed mechanicals of the magazine to his house in Levittown, PA. We would put everything together, then bring it to the printer. Then we would mark another job well done with Chinese food. This picture is from about ten years ago, showing Bill going through the mechanicals and putting them in order. I shot it on the short-lived Polaroid Sepia 100 in a Polaroid 250.
