Developed in #hc110, 45 ml of syrup to 450 ml of water, at 40 degrees Fahrenheit (5 degrees Celsius) for 9 minutes. 1/25 seconds at f/1.5. #filmphotography #staybrokeshootfilm #allthroughalenspodcast #fossilizedfilm

Lights at the beach
I took my #contaxiii when we were on vacation recently in Cape May. One of the rolls I shot was a too-tightly-wound roll of #kodak2238. I wound up with a whole roll of overlapping photos. Some of them didn’t suck. First roll through my new-to-me Contax III. Eastman 5222 Double X (via @cinestillfilm) developed in #rodinal 1:50 for 11 minutes. The camera has an f/1.5 Sonnar lens, and I’m loving it. I’ve had three Kiev rangefinders, which are essentially the same camera, but this one feels more solid than the later ones I had, which were made in the 1970s. My Kiev II from 1952 fells very similar to this, though. All my Kiev’s are broken, sadly, and it’s hard to find anyone willing to fix them. The 1952 would be worth fixing. Anyway, I’m loving this 1936 Contax.

Shot this past Saturday with my 1953 Pacemaker #speedgraphic on J. Lane #dryplates from @pictoriographica. This plate was from batch 11, and expires n April of this year. I think it’s stood up pretty well. I bought these plates to use in a bagmag I got with my Graflex SLR RB Series B, but the leather tire on it one of the first times I used it, so I’ve been without a way to shoot 4x5 plates for a while. Until recently, anyway, when I 3D printed a few parts to turn a couple of old Graflex film pack holders into plate holders. This is one of my test shots to check if it’s working. I think it is. When I get the plateholders from the Kickstarter I backed from @chromacamera and @pictoriographica , I’ll probably start using these repurposed film packs for their intended purpose, wet plate.

I needed to get a Mamiya Press lens for the @cameradactyl Brancopan that I’m building, and I wanted a wide one to accentuate the panoramic nature of the shots that the camera is designed for. All the appropriate lenses I could find on eBay were like $300 apiece. Then there was a Mamiya Press Universal camera on the site that had a 75mm lens attached. The price? $300. So it was like getting the camera for free. It came with a Polaroid back, so when it showed up today, I loaded it with some Fuji FP-100C and went into the backyard for a few minutes.
