For the past 25 years, I’ve helped put out a magazine about shortwave radio. My friend Bill was the publisher.

One of my favorite local breweries, @kanebrewing, released this beer, a collaboration with @transmitterbrewing, tonight. My friend Bill passed away last Tuesday at the age of 89. Every Saturday, he would hold what was jokingly referred to as a “Longwave Convention”, which consisted of himself and however many craft beers he felt like downing that evening.

Tonight, I hold my own Shortwave Convention in his honor, with the most appropriate beer possible. RIP, my friend.
